Myth: Everyone who snores has sleep apnea.

The most common sleep-related breathing disorder is obstructive sleep apnea. The conditions cause you to stop and start breathing while you sleep repeatedly.

This type of sleep apnea happens when your throat muscles intermittently relax and block your airway while trying to sleep. Snoring can be a noticeable sign of sleep apnea but it is not the only reason people snore.

Tip: You might not need a CPAP machine.
